This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use applies to the ChapterOne mobile application and related educational services provided by Antimatter Labs ("we", "our", or "us").

We value your trust and are committed to protecting your personal information. This document describes the types of data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and protected, your rights regarding your data, and the terms governing your use of our application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect user data in order to provide, operate, and continuously improve our services, as well as to offer students and educators a reliable, tailored, and seamless learning experience. The information we collect includes:

• Account Information: When you register or sign in through Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, profile photo URL, and selected academic grade or class (e.g., Class 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10).
• Learning Progress and Usage Data: To track your curriculum mastery, we collect learning telemetry including completed interactive labs, quiz attempts, assessment scores, XP rewards, and study streaks.
• Device and Technical Information: We collect standard operational metrics such as device model, Android OS version, application version code, crash logs, and network connection status to ensure compatibility and system reliability.
• Billing and Purchase Information: Digital purchases and subscriptions are processed directly and securely through Google Play In-App Billing. We only receive purchase tokens and transaction validation statuses to unlock features; we never collect, see, or store your credit card, debit card, or bank account details.

2. How We Use User Data

We use the information collected from users strictly to deliver better service and maintain our educational platform:

• To deliver interactive science and mathematics visualizers, simulations, and assessment modules.
• To personalize curriculum content and save your progress across devices and sessions.
• To diagnose software bugs, prevent crashes, monitor server health, and optimize app performance.
• To authenticate legitimate users, safeguard accounts, and prevent unauthorized usage or abuse.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, data brokers, or commercial advertisers.

3. Third-Party Services

The app utilizes trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify you in order to provide essential platform functionality. Each service is governed by its respective privacy policy:

• Google Play Services & Google Sign-In: Used for secure single sign-on authentication and in-app purchase handling. (Google Privacy Policy)

4. Data Security & Storage

We implement industry-standard technical and operational safeguards to protect your personal information:

• All communications between the mobile application and backend services are encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
• User authentication is handled via secure, signed tokens (JWT). Plaintext passwords are never handled or stored.
• Personal identifiers, such as email addresses, are masked in internal API communications and administrative views to safeguard student privacy.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide you with our educational services. You have the right to request the complete and permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:

• In-App Deletion: You can delete your account directly inside the app by going to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirming the prompt.
• Email Request: You may also request deletion by sending an email to lab.antimatter@gmail.com from your registered account email with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Requests are fulfilled within 48 hours.

Upon account deletion, all personal identifiers, quiz records, progress telemetry, and account credentials are permanently erased from our databases.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ChapterOne is designed as an educational tool for school students. We comply with child data protection standards, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect unnecessary personal information from children, and we do not use student data for behavioral advertising or commercial marketing. Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review, update, or request the deletion of their child's account data.

7. Terms of Use

By accessing or using ChapterOne, you agree to comply with the following terms:

• The app and its interactive content are provided exclusively for legitimate educational and personal study purposes.
• You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or attempt to extract source code from the application or its visualizer engines.
• You agree not to exploit vulnerabilities, distribute malicious code, or interfere with server operations.
• All simulation algorithms, 3D assets, questions, and curriculum contents are the intellectual property of Antimatter Labs.

8. Limitations of Liability

ChapterOne is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Antimatter Labs and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the application.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the application following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
